Do you like this plot?

Grace (no last name yet) has always been afraid of water ever since that night her brother Jason died. It was a night that she can never forget - that has haunted her in her sleep to this day. The night had started out has any night when Jason visits from college is like - sneaking into a rated R horror movie, eating out at their favorite Chinese buffet, and the race on who can gather the most seashells at the local beach before the sun sets. But Jason, being his daring and adventurous self - a trait Grace has always envied - decided to do something a bit daring, and grabs a surfboard heading towards the ocean. By then it was way past midnight, the local beach closed, and the ocean waves strangely nonexistent as Jason jumps on his surfboard and swims in the water, daring Grace to join him. But Grace stays back and urges Jason to come back to the shore, having a very bad feeling about this. It all happened so quickly after that. A big wave suddenly roars up, taller than Grace has ever seemed before, and crashes over Jason before he can react. After that one wave, the whole ocean seemed to calm down to a faint ripple. It was the last time Grace ever saw her brother. No one believes her when she tells this story, not even her own parents, or her therapist that she's forced to visit, or the adoption agency that she's eventually sent to when her parents think she has lost her mind – and Grace, after a while, starts to believe them. That maybe Jason’s death had taken too big of a toll on her that she can’t think straight and is just grabbing at straws. But then she meets Ethan Caldwell , a boy her age who has lost his mom to the sea the same way Grace lost Jason, at the “mental disability” at the hospital, all doubt is erased as Ethan and her embark on an adventure to save their siblings – an adventure that will test the very fabric of human nature and sacrifice.
