NOT urgent! Playground for my hermit crab?

I have two regular seashells - if they're from the beach or not I don't know - and one small shell that USED to have a little hermit crab in it. If I buried these halfway into the sand, would they make a good playground for my hermit crab? All advice welcome, and take your time, this isn't urgent! Have a nice day, peeps!
