Why do some creationists claim fossils on mountaintops are evidence for a global flood?

They do this because they point EVERYTHING to the flood. For example, if you ask a creationist what happened to the dinosaurs, they will automatically go to the flood as an explanation. They basically do this in a feeble attempt to validate their faulty logic in science.
