My netbook's ac adapter melted.. Replace with Japanese factory brand or another Asus adapter?

My Asus eee pc Seashell 1005ha's ac adapter overheated, cracked a wire and melted itself. Is it better to pay 100 dollars for something namebrand that melts and has a life expectancy of about 6 months, or risk buying an ac adapter much more affordably from an questionably reputable overseas producer that doesn't manufacture anything for Asus? I don't want to waste my money.. Any recommendations for asus netbook chargers?
