Why do people stereotype people who smoke weed?

The ironic thing is, the person who doesn't do the marijuana research and then uses straw-man arguments to attack it and call users unintellectual, is actually the anti-intellectual himself because a true intellectual researches the data and draws conclusions based on the data, not gut feelings.
