The piece is removable. It's a little black piece that connects the SATA hard drive to the motherboard. It's definitely not a SATA to PATA adapter. It is located inside a Hewlett-Packard DV6636 notebook. It is located in some newer laptops, but the difference is that the newer pieces have a cable running from the adapter piece to the motherboard. The one I need is straight adapter that connects to the motherboard directly...no cable. Anybody know where I can find one? At the very least, does anyone know what it's called? Thanks, guys.
